Joburg Jeopardy & Ciganda's Success

As quickly as the curtain lifted on the new DP World Tour, the curtain fell on the Joburg Open. Covid concerns saw the first event of the rebranded European Tour cut to 36 holes and South Africa’s own Thriston Lawrence crowned the winner. It may have been an anti-climax, but back-to-back 6-under rounds of 65 is still worthy of a pat on the back.

In less complicated fashion, Spain’s Solheim Cup star Calota Ciganda won her homeland title at the Andalucia Costa del Sol Open de Espana. The same event saw Atthaya Thitikul claim the season-long Race to Costa del Sol to finish the season on top of the Ladies European Tour.
